Hassan Sharif (deceased 2016)

Hassan Sharif is a painter, installation artist and caricaturist. He is a founding member of the Emirates Fine Art Society and of the Group of Five. He is the author of New Art (1995), Sharp Tools for Making Art (1995), The Concept of Art (1997), and Al Khamsa (2003). Sharif received a special award at the Sharjah Biennale 2003. His work has been exhibited at the Cairo International Biennial, Havana Biennial and at Sharjah Arts Museum, the DIFC and the Creek Art Fair.

His work is in permanent collections of private collectors in the UAE, Sittard Art Center (Holland), Sharjah Art Museum (UAE) and Arab Museum of Modern Art (Qatar). Hassan Sharif was represented by Gallery Isabelle van den Eynde, Dubai, UAE
