Field Notes from Aridly Abundant Landscapes
Aridly Abundant’, curated by Faysal Tabbarah, 2023 NPUAE Curator and Associate Dean at College of Art, Architecture and Design at American University of Sharjah (AUS), challenges our perceptions of aridity by exploring the untapped potential of arid environments as spaces of abundance, showcasing cutting-edge architectural possibilities within the UAE’s desert plateau, wadis, and coastal plains.
Join us for a talk with Faysal Tabbarah moderated by Curator of NYUAD Art Gallery Duygu Demir on the story of Aridly Abundant for the National Pavilion UAE’s participation at the 18th International Architecture Exhibition. This talk highlights innovative architectural designs tailored for arid climates, challenging traditional perceptions and exploring these environments as spaces rich in opportunity. The aim is to shift the narrative around aridity, presenting these regions as fertile grounds for architectural innovation and abundance.
This event is part of NYUAD Art Gallery’s new series titled ‘Curators Talk’.
The talk is open to the public and registration is recommended.
