Dr. Michele Bambling
Dr. Michele Bambling is Creative Director of the Lest We Forget initiative launched under the auspices of the Salama bint Hamdan Al Nahyan Foundation. She received a Ph.D. from Columbia University in art history and a Postdoctoral Research Fellowship from The Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York. Bambling also taught art history and museum studies at Zayed University and other institutions in Abu Dhabi, where she has resided for the past seven years.
Dr. Bambling has curated and organized the following exhibitions: Lest We Forget: Emirati Family Photographs 1958 – 1999 at Zayed University; Emirati Women Artists at the Emirates Palace in Abu Dhabi; and Come ciliegi in fiore: Fascino della bellezza e senso dell’effimero nella tradizione artistica del Giappone held at the Complesso Del Vittoriano in Rome.
She has also presented numerous conference papers on art and cultural history at The Metropolitan Museum of Art, Singapore National University, the Atsumi Foundation, Columbia University and other institutions.
